Impeachment possibility
Not very likely, unless Obama either;
A) Refuses to cut a deal and the debt limit expires, which sends the US into default.
B) Issues and Executive Order that unilaterally raises the debt limit without Congressional approval.
Personally, I think the first scenario is exactly what is about to happen, as far as any deal being reached.
What Congress does after that I couldn't guess.
Hell, even they don't have a clue what they're going to do.

Here we are, fighting an illegal war, and now the Obama Administration is upping the ante by throwing in with a group of known terrorists, and calling them the "legitimate government".
I wish we'd stayed out of this one and let nature take it's course in Libya.
There are no "good guys" over there--no pro-Western factions are to be found anywhere.
Quaddaffi is a bad guy.
The rebels are bad guys.
Why are we so hell-bent on supporting the Al-Qaeda/Muslim Brotherhood/Hezbollah types in North Africa?
Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Syria.
We need to keep our noses (and our military) out of these conflicts, and let these jackals kill each other off.
It's not our fight.
There is more going on here than meets the eye.

Probably not.
We have the Democrats on one side capitulating to their Marxist leader, and the Republicans on the other side, who are only trying to save themselves long enough to get re-elected next year.
The problem is, we need saving NOW, we can't wait until November 2012.
I predict the Republicans will cave, the debt ceiling will be raised, the debt will grow exponentially, they will print even more worthless paper to cover it, and inflation will continue to rise.
Unless something drastic is done now the country is doomed.
Like they used to tell us in the Army; "it's time to sack up."

This is a poor attempt to divide the Tea Party

This is nothing but a thinly veiled attempt to create public perception that there is some sort of rift within the Tea Party.
To say that there is any sort of "poster child" Tea Party representative at this point is nothing short of ludicrous.
Yes, many Tea Party-types, myself included, can be counted among the admirers of both Palin and Bachmann. Both are very Conservative, and both espouse a return to a government that not only respects the US Constitution, but only functions within its boundaries.
However, like most other Tea Partiers, I have yet to settle on the person that I will vote for in 2012.
There is no rift within the Tea Party.

TIME Magazine asked recently if the U.S. Constitution was relevant in today's world.
It seems that every time you turn on the TV, talking heads are debating the same thing. The Constitution is under near relentless attack by the Progressive elements in our society.
President Obama and his Socialist, Progressive, and Marxist acolytes are constantly mounting attacks on the Bill of Rights, both in full view and under the radar.
He has given speeches espousing attacks on the 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms "by regulation if not legislation" (paraphrased), he has named more "czars" than any President in history outside of Woodrow Wilson or FDR.
Look for even more open attacks on freedom.
There is a war going on, a war against the Constitution, and the liberal media has already chosen sides.
You won't see news footage of the attacks.
You won't read about it (probably) in your local newspaper.
Instead, the attacks will be carried out in US District Courts, State Supreme Courts, and various State Legislatures.
Some of these attacks may even be struck down by the Supreme Court, but the President has already demonstrated his willingness to crank out Executive Orders that subvert the Constitution.
Keep your eyes wide open, and for God's sake, voice your opinion.
Scream loudly to your State and Federal Representatives, and especially to like-minded citizens.
This is a war that will determine our future, and that of this nation.

The plot thickens.................... This pronouncement comes on the heels of the Summit in Kazakhstan between Russia, China, and Iran. It doesn't surprise me a bit, and I actually wonder how much of this comes at the behest of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad? China and Russia, while full members of the UN Security Council, are NOT (full) members of NATO. In my mind, things are falling into place. Watching closely.............. T.W.

Our government, and especially the Federal Reserve, have traded away our future, along with those of our children, all the way to their grandchildren's future economic stability.
There is simply no way in sight out of this mess.

In its effort to counter the significant economic difficulties since 2008, the US government has added, or will have added, around $4 trillion in deficits (financed by new debt) in its three fiscal years 2009, 2010 and 2011. Yet, all this massive government deficit spending has failed to really ignite economic growth. Most likely this is because of the enormous dead weight of unproductive and onerous private sector debt, particularly that of consumer debt. Hence, real US GDP will have increased probably less than $1.5trn during these years. Including some further economic benefit in the years thereafter, a total GDP benefit of only about $2trn is probable.
So, $4trn borrowed for $2trn in GDP gains. Thus, in very rough round numbers, each new one dollar of US government debt might only produce $0.50 in new economic activity and probably only about $0.08 in new federal tax revenue. (Federal tax revenue as a percentage of GDP is around 15 per cent.) Therefore, the economic marginal return for each new dollar of US government debt is possibly around -50 per cent! If you loaned someone $10 million and they gave you back $5m, you would not be happy!
Hence, it might not be long before those holding or buying US government bonds perceive the reality that the US government, and US economy, are losing massively on government borrowings. This will result in much, much higher US government bond yields and interest costs. Most importantly, it may make the rollover of US debt and new debt issuance incredibly difficult unless either US taxes rise stratospherically to cover the deficits, and/or the US Federal Reserve money printing goes into hyper-drive to purchase the debt the markets will not buy. (Of course US banks, pension funds etc., could also be forced to buy them.)

South Texas enjoys major boom from oil fracking - Yahoo! News
I'm glad that this is happening all over the country, but this statement from the article bothers me;
"....Major industry players have joined the Eagle Ford project, including Anadarko, Range Resources and Shell. Chesapeake Energy of Oklahoma City signed a multi-billion dollar deal with the Chinese state-owned oil company to raise cash to drill in the shale."
The Chinese State-owned oil company?
So are they going to collect the oil themselves or collect on the sale??
My problem is that the US Gov't is so freaking backwards right now they won't allow off shore drilling, and won't openly sponsor new drilling in the continental US or Alaska, but they'll allow the Chinese to sponsor it??
Personally, I wish the US would drill everywhere we know there's oil, ramp up domestic and offshsore exploration, and explore the possibility of conversion to natural gas for vehicles.
We know there is massive, massive deposits of natgas. It burns cleaner and more effectively as well.

Scientists advocate putting antidepressants in public water supply
I worked in a busy Emergency Room for many years as a Nurse.
Nurses by far have the darkest senses of humor of any other demographic group on the planet.
We laugh to keep from crying, and inject very black humor into unimaginable circumstances in which we routinely find oursleves.
In other words, we crack jokes at very odd times, and the average civilain would find much of what we privately say to one another during such times quite objectionable, I'm certain.

We laugh to keep from crying, and inject very black humor into unimaginable circumstances in which we routinely find oursleves.
In other words, we crack jokes at very odd times, and the average civilain would find much of what we privately say to one another during such times quite objectionable, I'm certain.
One of my favorites used to be when the ER would be rocking late in the evening, full of trauma patients, medical crises, and the usual three or four psychiatric cases, sucide attempts, and various other cases stacked upon another.
The lobby would inevitably be standing room only, and complaints, even threats, would be hurled repeatedly at the hospital staff.
Well, at times like this, one of us would invariably remark, "we need a Valium salt lick in the ER lobby", or "what we need is aerial spraying of Prozac", among others.
Well, with all that being said, it looks as if it's not just ER Nurses that have this sense of humor.
Except that this is seriously being put out there by a group of British scientists;
Lithium in public water supplies to combat widespread depression.
I can think of at least a dozen medical reasons against this offhand, not to mention the multitude of legal/constitutionall issues such a thing would ignite.
Of course, it's all conjecture, but still, it makes one consider the 'what if' factor.

God's eternal Covenant with Israel

This is why I have such a major problem with the betrayal of our brothers and sisters in Israel, and the entire Jewish people all over the world.

What is the Abrahamic Covenant?
A covenant is an agreement between two parties. There are two types of covenants: conditional and unconditional. A conditional or bilateral covenant is an agreement that is binding on both parties for its fulfillment. Both parties agree to fulfill certain conditions. If either party fails to meet their responsibilities, the covenant is broken and neither party has to fulfill the expectations of the covenant. An unconditional or unilateral covenant is an agreement between two parties, but only one of the two parties has to do something. Nothing is required of the other party.
The Abrahamic Covenant is an unconditional covenant. God made promises to Abraham that required nothing of Abraham. Genesis 15:18-21 describes a part of the Abrahamic Covenant, specifically dealing with the dimensions of the land God promised to Abraham and his descendants.
The actual Abrahamic Covenant is found in Genesis 12:1-3. The ceremony recorded in Genesis 15 indicates the unconditional nature of the covenant. The only time that both parties of a covenant would pass between the pieces of animals was when the fulfillment of the covenant was dependent upon both parties keeping commitments. Concerning the significance of God alone moving between the halves of the animals, it is to be noted that it is a smoking furnace and a flaming torch, representing God, not Abraham, which passed between the pieces. The unconditional and eternal nature of the covenant is seen in that the covenant is reaffirmed to Isaac (Genesis 21:12; 26:3–4). The “I will” promises suggest the unconditional aspect of the covenant. The covenant is further confirmed to Jacob (Genesis 28:14–15). It is noteworthy that God reaffirmed these promises amid the sins of the patriarchs, which fact further emphasizes the unconditional nature of the Abrahamic Covenant.

The Abrahamic Covenant finds its ultimate fulfillment in connection with the return of Messiah to rescue and bless His people Israel. It is through the nation Israel that God promised in Genesis 12:1–3 to bless the nations of the world. That ultimate blessing will issue in the forgiveness of sins and Messiah’s glorious kingdom reign on earth.

This was part of God's Covenant with Abraham.

What is the Abrahamic Covenant?
A covenant is an agreement between two parties. There are two types of covenants: conditional and unconditional. A conditional or bilateral covenant is an agreement that is binding on both parties for its fulfillment. Both parties agree to fulfill certain conditions. If either party fails to meet their responsibilities, the covenant is broken and neither party has to fulfill the expectations of the covenant. An unconditional or unilateral covenant is an agreement between two parties, but only one of the two parties has to do something. Nothing is required of the other party.
The Abrahamic Covenant is an unconditional covenant. God made promises to Abraham that required nothing of Abraham. Genesis 15:18-21 describes a part of the Abrahamic Covenant, specifically dealing with the dimensions of the land God promised to Abraham and his descendants.
The actual Abrahamic Covenant is found in Genesis 12:1-3. The ceremony recorded in Genesis 15 indicates the unconditional nature of the covenant. The only time that both parties of a covenant would pass between the pieces of animals was when the fulfillment of the covenant was dependent upon both parties keeping commitments. Concerning the significance of God alone moving between the halves of the animals, it is to be noted that it is a smoking furnace and a flaming torch, representing God, not Abraham, which passed between the pieces. This is an outrage to peace, sovereignty of Israel, and a stable Middle East. The nation of Israel was attacked in 1967 from all sides with a determination to annihilate her. Israel needs more security, not less. The Palestinians have steadfastly refused to acknowledge Israel's right to exist, despite long standing international law to the contrary. The President needs to worry less about the borders of Israel and start securing the borders of the United States."

"Obama is the new Arafat"
This is what has become of our once-close relationship with the only truly free nation in the Middle East.
I sincerely hope that the Israeli people realize that this man speaks only for himself and the Progressive Left in this country, and not the actual majority of our citizens.
I wish I could say this was a surprise, but it certainly is not.
I have been saying for years that the US would be removed-from without or within-as an ally of Israel.
Again, I say read the Bible my friends.
Prophecy is being fulfilled at an alarming rate.

Legislation would allow the President to unilaterally declare War, even against US citizens
What if the President could bypass Congressional approval when considering military actions?
President Obama has done so in the case of Libya, and President Bush's Administration misled the public as to the reasons to invade Iraq. ( I personally think Bush was misled himself, but I digress..)
What if the President could authorize the us of US combat forces against the citizens within the US itself?
Well, my friends, it seems that there is a piece of legislation on the Congressional blotter that would do just this. It's part of the "National Defense Authorization Act" being deliberated by Congress.
Congressional Bill to allow the President to unilaterally use military forces to wage war, even within the US!!!
As I've been trying to tell people, the military is already being conditioned to the idea of being used against the citizens of this country.

Training for homeland scenarios has already begun at Fort Stewart and includes specialty tasks such as knowing how to use the “jaws of life” to extract a person from a mangled vehicle; extra medical training for a CBRNE incident; and working with U.S. Forestry Service experts on how to go in with chainsaws and cut and clear trees to clear a road or area.
The 1st BCT’s soldiers also will learn how to use “the first ever nonlethal package that the Army has fielded,” 1st BCT commander Col. Roger Cloutier said, referring to crowd and traffic control equipment and nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals without killing them.....

The US military is not to be used against its own citizens for "crowd control" or "civil unrest".
Call me paranoid, but I have been to numerous places that were supposedly "Democracies" that used its military against its own people. It was wrong then, and its wrong now.

I am too young to remember the Cuban Misslie Crisis.
I was born October 11 1962, during the height of the tensions, when the US and the Soviet Union stood on the brink of thermonuclear war.
My mother, however, remembers it vividly. She has told me many times of the fear, the terror, of those days. She was 18 years old, a young wife, and new mother of yours truly.
I am now 48 years old, and the father of four, grandfather of four (so far).
Are we to relive the terror of October 1962?
Will the Iranians follow through?
Will the Obama Administration do anything?

BERLIN – The Iranian government is moving forward with the construction of rocket launch bases in Venezuela, the German daily Die Welt wrote in its Thursday edition.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is Teheran's most important South American ally.
Iran is building intermediate- range missile launch pads on the Paraguaná Peninsula, and engineers from a construction firm – Khatam al-Anbia – owned by the Revolutionary Guards visited Paraguaná in February. Amir al-Hadschisadeh, the head of the Guard's Air Force, participated in the visit, according to the report. Die Welt cited information from "Western security insiders."
The rocket bases are to include measures to prevent air attacks on Venezuela as well as commando and control stations.
The Iranian military involvement in the project extends to bunker, barracks and watch tower construction. Twenty-meter deep rocket silos are planned. The cost of the Venezuelan military project is being paid for with Iranian oil revenue. The Iranians paid in cash for the preliminary phase of the project and, the total cost is expected to amount to "dozens of millions" of dollars, Die Welt wrote.
The Paraguaná Peninsula is on the coast of Venezuela and is roughly 120 kilometers from America's main South American partner, Columbia.
According to Die Welt, the clandestine agreement between Venezuela and Iran would mean the Chavez government would fire rocket at Iran's enemies should the Islamic Republic face military strikes.
Meanwhile the German press agency (DPA) reported on Friday that Germany will not contest the placement of the Hamburg- based European- Iranian Trade Bank (EIH) on the EU sanctions list at the end of the month. The US Treasury Department sanctioned the EIH last year, saying it was one of the most important institutions in Europe for financing Iran's missile and nuclear proliferation programs. Germany was the subject of criticism from American, French, British and Israeli officials because it refused to shut the EIH.
The EIH plays a crucial role in facilitating financial transactions for midsize German firms that are active in Iran. German- Iranian total trade amounted to over 4 billion euros in 2010, making German Iran's No. 1 EU trade partner.

The final straw?

Violence erupted on Israel's borders with Syria, Lebanon and Gaza on Sunday, leaving at least eight dead and dozens wounded, as Palestinians marked what they term "the catastrophe" of Israel's founding in 1948.
Israeli troops shot at protesters in three separate locations to prevent crowds from crossing Israeli frontier lines in the deadliest such confrontation in years.
Israeli and Syrian media reports said Israeli gunfire killed four people after dozens of Palestinian refugees infiltrated the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights from Syria, along a disputed border that has been quiet for decades.
Witnesses on the nearby Lebanese frontier said four Palestinians were killed after Israeli forces fired at rock-throwing protesters to prevent them from crossing the border.
The Lebanese army had also earlier fired in the air in an attempt to hold back the crowds.
On Israel's tense southern border with the Gaza Strip, Israeli gunfire wounded 60 Palestinians as demonstrators approached Israel's fence with the Hamas Islamist-run enclave, medical workers said.
In Tel Aviv, Israel's commercial hub, a truck driven by an Arab Israeli slammed into vehicles and pedestrians, killing one man and injuring 17 people.
Police were trying to determine whether the incident was an accident or an attack. Witnesses said the driver, who was arrested, ran amok with his truck in downtown traffic.

Israeli security forces had been on alert for violence on Sunday, the day Palestinians mark the "Nakba," or catastrophe, of Israel's founding in a 1948 war, when hundreds of thousands of their brethren fled or were forced to leave their homes.
In the Druze village of Majdal Shams, on the Golan Heights captured by Israel from Syria in 1967, Mayor Dolan Abu Salah said between 40 and 50 Nakba demonstrators from Syria tore through the frontier fence.
Hundreds of protesters flooded the lush green valley that marks the border area, waving Palestinian flags. Israeli troops attempted to mend the breached fence, firing at what the army described as infiltrators.
"We are seeing here an Iranian provocation, on both the Syrian and the Lebanese frontiers, to try to exploit the Nakba day commemorations," said the army's chief spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Yoav Mordechai.
Syria is home to 470,000 Palestinian refugees and its leadership, now facing fierce internal unrest, had in previous years prevented protesters from reaching the frontier fence.
"This appears to be a cynical and transparent act by the Syrian leadership to deliberately create a crisis on the border so as to distract attention from the very real problems that regime is facing at home," said a senior Israeli government official who declined to be named.
In a Nakba protest in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian youths threw rocks at Israeli soldiers, who fired tear gas and rubber bullets in a clash at the Israeli military checkpoint outside the city of Ramallah -- a constant flashpoint.
A Palestinian teenager was shot dead during protests in Jerusalem on Friday. Police said it was unclear who had shot him and they were investigating.
That shooting took place in the tense neighborhood of Silwan in East Jerusalem, where violence regularly breaks out between Palestinian stone throwers and Israeli police and Jewish settlers.
Palestinians want East Jerusalem as the capital of the state they intend to establish in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

About 1 in 7 Americans receive Food Stamps
Disclaimer;
In no way am I disparaging anyone that receives Food Stamps who needs the assistance.
I personally know folks that do, and almost all of them do so because their financial situation is pretty bleak.
I also know (indirectly) at least one person that gets them simply because she can, and she sells them for extra cash.

If this doesn't reveal a fundamental truth about the US economy, I don't know what does.
The government is set to release the April unemployment data this Friday. In truth, no matter what the percentage of unemployed, those numbers are going to have been spun and skewed by the government to give the rosiest picture possible.
This article does much more to reveal the real truth about the actual magnitude of a fundamental problem in this country;
the citizens are hurting financially, whether they're employed, "underemployed", or jobless.
While the price of food, gasoline, and almost everything else is skyrocketing, one thing remains stable;
the wages being earned are NOT rising to meet the level of inflation, in fact, they typically aren't rising at all.
This results in average citizens' money not buying what it did even a month ago.
I know that my own household is feeling the financial pinch dramatically.
Gas has gone up enormously, and so have our grocery bills.
Of course, our income hasn't went up a bit, so there's no such thing as 'disposable income' in my humble home.
No extra money.
No vacation this summer. (again)
I'm sure this is a trend for most other Americans. My wife and I both earn well above the US average, have no credit card debt, and both vehicles are paid for. All we have is our mortgage payment and monthly utilities. ( Thank you, Dave Ramsey.... )
If my family is feeling this crunch, I can only imagine what it must be like for a family of four that literally makes half of what we do, yet has a mortgage, car payments, credit card bills, and still has to buy groceries and gas for the car.
I promise you, this week's unemployment numbers, however rosy the government tries to paint them, will not show the real truth of what's happening in this nation.
The truth is, the actual number of unemployed is at least double whatever adjusted number the Bureau of Labor Statistics releases to the public on Friday.
Too many ways to skew the data-they don't take into account the amount of people who have been out of work long-term, and those that are no longer eligible for unemployment benefits, for example.
Couple this with the fact that 1 in 7 ( that's 14.3%, folks ) of all US citizens are on Food Stamps, and you begin to get a much truer feel of what this country is facing right now.
And it's sure not the butterflies and lollipops the Obama Administration is pushing.

The Danger in Severing God from America's Identity
It is beyond dispute that there is a link between socialism and American progressivism. Both flawed ideologies are predicated upon the soundness of a large and powerful government designed to disperse the fruits of labor by seizing means and property from the productive. And as many conservatives are quick to point out, nothing could be more antithetical to the ideals scribed in the Constitution
But beyond the insidious application of socialism under the less condemning titles of "progressivism" and "social justice," the liberal left poses another threat to America that is less defended. It has, for over a century, laid perpetual siege upon Christianity, seeking to excise all Christian influence from American government and its institutions piecemeal, from banning prayer in schools to seeking taxpayer-funded abortions.
This phasing-out of Christianity's influence in American government has been applauded by secular liberals. They are convinced that God has no place in American governance, steadfastly clinging to the false belief that the First Amendment implies this mandatory "separation."
Our leader, too, works feverishly to sever the relationship between God and America, and to downplay the latter's reliance on the former. Consider that Barack Obama has gone out of his way on numerous occasions to describe that "we are no longer a Christian nation." Or consider that he has wished goodwill to Muslims around the world on the uniquely Islamic holidays of Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha, but failed this past weekend to offer the same courtesy to American Christians to commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The fact that America has a president that is working hard to separate Christianity from the American identity is certainly disheartening. But what is really terrifying is the looming outcome if he succeeds.
Eugene D. Genovese, as referenced by Dr. Thomas Woods in his book A Politically Incorrect Guide to American History, was an open Marxist for most of his life. Toward the end of his life, he denounced Communism, and in 1994, revealed what he found to be the true source of socialism's evil.
The "horrors" of socialism, according to Genovese, were not the result of "Stalinist or other corruptions of high ideals." Rather, they were caused by "a deep flaw in our understanding of human nature -- its frailty and its possibilities -- and by our inability to replace the moral and ethical baseline provided by the religion we have dismissed with indifference, not to say contempt." And, even more specifically, he relates, "Having... scoffed at the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Temple Mount, we ended a seventy-year experiment with socialism with little more to our credit than tens of millions of corpses."
His meaning is simple. The gravest dangers of socialism are only realized when a people take their faith from God and place it in frail humans, who, by nature, are capable of unspeakable atrocities. It was not because Communists believed in socialism that led to their unquestionable evil; it was the forceful extraction of God from the people's ideology.
So we should be afraid, not because we have cobbled a path to socialism for over one hundred years, but because that time has been simultaneously spent directing America away from the Christian God of its founding.
The fact that the progressive movement has been bent on shepherding its flock away from God has yielded frightening trends. Today, the apostolic devotion reserved by our founding fathers for God has become replaced in many American liberals by devotion to large government and Barack Obama. There are so many among them that unconditionally support him; African-Americans who support him for his race alone, leftists that support him for being something other than Republican, and even anti-war elements that support him in spite of escalating the war in Afghanistan and attacking Libya.
In truth, we have had a saving grace that has made us less susceptible to experience the evils socialism can bring. America, since inception, has been closely aligned with God. God is referenced on our buildings, our currency, and is invoked to preside over our justice system. In terms of America's character, as well, there is evidence that proves Christianity's influence. For example, I've heard it said by Christians that atheists lack a moral compass, but with the many atheists I've known, this is wholly untrue. The truth is that American atheists absolutely have a moral compass, and it comes from God; they simply choose not to recognize the correlation. The tenets of Christianity have shaped American morality, and therefore, this moral compass has been engrained in most of them through the American experience.
Because what is American and what is Christian are often the same, disassociating the two takes considerable effort. But after one hundred years of a calculated progressive assault, there is a gradual and increasing severance.
Our founding fathers knew the danger Eugene Genovese would discover 200 years later. They clearly did not believe in the constancy of men that become tyrants, but it certain that they believed in the constancy of God that grants us reason. It was with this in mind when, in a moment of brilliance and clarity, they forged the greatest and freest nation this Earth has ever seen.

Military Patrols downtown Columbus, GA after escalation in violence
This news is from this past Friday night;
In Columbus, GA, a city connected to Fort Benning US Army base, the Mayor has seen fit to allow the US Army to have a few of their soldiers performing "Courtesy Patrols" on the streets of downtown Columbus.
This is on the heels of increasing violence in Columbus this month- 5 Army soldiers severely beat a civilian earlier this month, and there was a fatal shooting that also injured several others (unsure if any military personnel involved).
I have questions.
For starters;
Why does Columbus need the Military to patrol the strees of their city?
Do they not have enough (or effective enough) police officers to do the job?
Is this Constitutional?

In Columbus, GA, a city connected to Fort Benning US Army base, the Mayor has seen fit to allow the US Army to have a few of their soldiers performing "Courtesy Patrols" on the streets of downtown Columbus.
This is on the heels of increasing violence in Columbus this month- 5 Army soldiers severely beat a civilian earlier this month, and there was a fatal shooting that also injured several others (unsure if any military personnel involved).
I have questions.
For starters;
Why does Columbus need the Military to patrol the strees of their city?
Do they not have enough (or effective enough) police officers to do the job?
Is this Constitutional?

This is very dire news regarding the American economy. China's economy will overtake ours by 2016, and while theirs is growing, ours is not.
We have traded jobs for profits for too long in the US. The jobs have moved from the US, mostly to China, and this is a huge reason that our Upper and Middle Classes are so far apart, and moving further apart. The Middle Class is eroding, shrinking, while the lower classes continue to eat away at the ecomnomy by gobbling up government handouts, until soon there will be no money for the entitlement programs.
In truth, there already isn't, but the Government continues to use creative accounting tactics, the mainstream media, and outright lies to keep the masses in check.
Soon, even that won't be enough.

I've been studying this for the past couple of years, and am convinced that some hard times are on the horizon.
There are entirely too many things happening in this country and around the world, simultaneously, that are raising the alarm.

Michigan Police Search Cell Phones During Traffic Stops with new "extraction devices"

" The Michigan State Police have a high-tech mobile forensics device that can be used to extract information from cell phones belonging to motorists stopped for minor traffic violations. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Michigan last Wednesday demanded that state officials stop stonewalling freedom of information requests for information on the program.
ACLU learned that the police had acquired the cell phone scanning devices and in August 2008 filed an official request for records on the program, including logs of how the devices were used. The state police responded by saying they would provide the information only in return for a payment of $544,680. The ACLU found the charge outrageous.
"Law enforcement officers are known, on occasion, to encourage citizens to cooperate if they have nothing to hide," ACLU staff attorney Mark P. Fancher wrote. "No less should be expected of law enforcement, and the Michigan State Police should be willing to assuage concerns that these powerful extraction devices are being used illegally by honoring our requests for cooperation and disclosure."
A US Department of Justice test of the CelleBrite UFED used by Michigan police found the device could grab all of the photos and video off of an iPhone within one-and-a-half minutes. The device works with 3000 different phone models and can even defeat password protections.
"Complete extraction of existing, hidden, and deleted phone data, including call history, text messages, contacts, images, and geotags," a CelleBrite brochure explains regarding the device's capabilities. "The Physical Analyzer allows visualization of both existing and deleted locations on Google Earth. In addition, location information from GPS devices and image geotags can be mapped on Google Maps."
The ACLU is concerned that these powerful capabilities are being quietly used to bypass Fourth Amendment protections against unreasonable searches....."

Folks, our Constitutional rights are under attack more than ever before.
The audacity of these police to think that they can just ignore our 4th Amendment rights is only a drop in the bucket. There is documented stories (that I have posted on this blog) detailing the use of portable devices that can be used to look inside vehicles and buildings, without the occupants being aware.
Nothing is sacred to the Progressive elite that is in control.

The European Union is waiting on UN (read U.S.) approval to send ground troops into Libya on a mission to provide security for the delivery of "aid supplies" to the Libyan rebels.
So, President Obama knows full well that he can't send in any ground troops-it would be political suicide to do so-so the UN decides to do it instead, for "humanitarian reasons"??
Anyone else smell a rat here??

Detroit SWAT forcibly removes child from home because parent wouldn't give un-necessary medication
This is a very twisted story.
A disabled middle school-age girl in Detroit wanted to attend school, so the child's mother took her for the required immunizations. The girl had some reactions to the immunizations, and a very bizzare chain of events occurred.
From the article;
“....She began acting out of character, being irritated, having facial grimaces that have been associated with immunizations,” Maryanne Godboldo sought help from the Children’s Center, an organization claiming to help families with at-risk children.
Godboldo told relatives the medications ordered by the doctor worsened symptoms, including behavioral problems.
When Godboldo refused to give her child the prescribed medication, Child Protective Services became involved. CPS obtained a warrant to remove the girl, but Maryanne reportedly refused to surrender the child to the state...."
That's when Big Brother took over.

Rep. Allen West; "Iis it open season on a principled black conservative?"
It is no secret to readers of this blog what I think of Rep. Allen West of Florida.
He is an honest, forthright man of strong convictions that says what he means and means what he says.
He is a retired US Army Colonel that put his own career directly in jeopardy-indeed he retired because of the incident-in order to save his men. Afterwards, he was asked if he would act differently if under similar circumstances again, West testified, "If it's about the lives of my soldiers at stake, I'd go through hell with a gasoline can."
If I were these fools, I'd leave this particular man alone.
I dearly hope we can talk this man into running for President.

Well, "The Speech" that all the Liberal/Progressive media have been championing the past few days turned out to be nothing but the strictly predictable, partisan, dull and overly long diatribe I expected it to be.
This President is bent on the economic destruction of this country, and nothing he has done or said has lessened my viewpoint.

First Tunisia, then Egypt, then the entire Arab world erupted in "Democratic Revolution" that the Western media embraced and shamelessly supported.

Japan rocked by 7.1 magnitude earthquake, Mexico hit by 6.5 quake
As if the earthquake- and tsunami- ravaged country didn't have enoug crises, another earthquake has hit the nation of Japan.

President Obama offers his solution to the rising gas price crunch: "Consider a trade-in..."
In a speech at a town hall meeting at Gamesa Technology Corp., a Spanish company that makes giant turbines that use wind to generate electricity, on Wednesday, President Obama had this exchange with a worker;

Obama needled one questioner who asked about gas prices, now averaging close to $3.70 a gallon nationwide, and suggested that the gentleman consider getting rid of his gas-guzzling vehicle.
"If you're complaining about the price of gas and you're only getting 8 miles a gallon, you know," Obama said laughingly. "You might want to think about a trade-in."... "
Really, Mr. President??
Maybe the Country needs to 'think about a trade-in', say, November 2012?

The pinnacle of incompetence

I went back to this March 22 article, and wished to share it with my readers.
I would like to add another name to the list of incompetents;
Barack Hussein Obama--for allowing himself, and his Administration, to be drawn into conflict on the side of the Muslim Brotherhood, Al Qaeda, and Hezbollah.
By doing so, he has strengthened our enemies, and drastically weakened our nation's relationship with Israel.

I must point out--many of us who were skeptical (and are even more so now that we are being proven right) of the so-called "Democratic revolution" in so many Islamic countries are being vidicated with the outpouring of news like this.
What thinking person can honestly say that they seriously expected a true democratic process in an Islamic dominated Middle Eastern country in today's global climate?
Radical Islam is on the rise, and will take over in every single one of these countries that fall to revolution.
I am not a fan of Muammar Quaddaffi (Kadafy, Gaddaffi, whatever...geez) nor am I crazy about the monarchies in the Arab nations, but at least Quaddaffi was mostly 'contained' in Libya before tha NATO airstrikes began.
If he remains in power, expect more Lockerbie type events. He no doubt will feel bound to 'repay' those that joined forces against him.
If he doesn't remain in power, then the Muslim Brotherhood/Al Qaeda/Hezbollah will seize power.
The same can be said of the rest of the nations that are currently--or soon will be--experiencing unrest.
This is a no-win situation for us, which we have made worse by taking sides.
I'll say it again;
in the Middle East, better the devil you know than the devil you don't.

This is the first I've heard about anything like this, but with Ms. Power's personal history and her close relationship with Barack Obama as a politician, it would not surprise me in the least.
Again, I urge you to re-read the articles regarding Samantha Power that I have published.
